Wintertime in Eastern North Carolina

While sorting through some photos taken in December this evening I was reminded once again, why I love photography so much. I decided to share a handful of these, the first set were taken in Manteo at the waterfront. (Warning, photos are large. Try F-11 for better functioning.)

This second set, is from Julie and I’s afternoon excursion up to Kill Devil Hill to see the Wright Brothers memorial and visitor center. It’s pretty amazing to behold, and probably my favorite of the many monuments I’ve seen in my life. (Much more so than a lot of the stuff in Washington DC.)

Finally, these last few photos were taken at Somerset place on the drive back in from Manteo. The vibe was amazing.

I managed to get all these shots with just my little office Nikon Coolpix 4300 point-and-shoot camera. Imagine how much fun I’ll have when I get my own digital SLR? (Hint, hint, wink, wink.)
